Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese (Print Version)

Crispy, gooey sandwich filled with pepperoni, mozzarella, and pizza sauce for delicious comfort.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Bread & Spreads

01 - 4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

→ Cheese

03 - 4 slices mozzarella cheese or 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
04 - 2 slices provolone cheese, optional
05 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

→ Pizza Sauce

06 - 4 tablespoons pizza sauce

→ Meats

07 - 12 to 16 slices pepperoni

→ Additional (Optional)

08 - 2 tablespoons sliced black olives
09 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or oregano

# How to Make It:

01 - Arrange the 4 slices of bread on a cutting board. Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice.
02 - Flip each bread slice over so the unbuttered side is facing up. Spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on two slices.
03 - Top the sauced slices with mozzarella cheese, provolone if desired, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
04 - Place 6 to 8 slices of pepperoni on each sandwich. Add black olives and herbs if using.
05 - Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
06 - Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches onto the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until bread is golden and crisp and cheese is melted.
07 - Remove sandwiches from the skillet. Allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve while warm.
